Before the Storm; Watson Lake

In Before the Storm; Watson Lake, I painted the quiet cove where the water stays still as dark clouds gather overhead. Warm granite formations frame the lake, with distant mountains just visible beneath the shifting sky. This is a cove where I kayak with my husband and it always feels so protected and somewhat secret.  I love the contrast between the sheltered water and the weather moving in. Its earthy colors and reflective mood make a thoughtful addition to a living room, study, or reading nook.
